There’s a quote by Mel Robbins that stopped me in my tracks:
“Let them.”
At first glance, it seems simple. But if you’re a small business owner, especially in something as personal as skincare, it hits differently.
I’ve always poured my heart into my clean skincare brand — mindful formulas, skin-first rituals, and ingredients you can actually recognize. But behind the serene aesthetic and intentional design, there’s a world of trial and error, innovation, doubt, and a ton of second-guessing. Every time I tried to pivot or launch something new, a tiny voice inside whispered: What will they think?
That’s when Mel Robbins’ words anchored me.
💬 “Let them judge you. Let them misunderstand you. Let them talk. Their opinion isn’t your responsibility.”
— Mel Robbins
Let Them Doubt — While You Build
Starting my skincare business was scary enough. But trying something new? That was next-level uncomfortable. New packaging, a fresh content direction, updated branding — all sparked some level of pushback or confusion. But I realized: I don’t need everyone to understand the vision. Only the right people. The ones who value clean beauty, conscious ingredients, and skin health over hype.
So now?
Let them doubt. I’m creating anyway.
Let Them Talk — While You Stay Focused
Behind every skincare product is a story. Every formula in my collection is the result of research, listening to real skin struggles, and building a business rooted in care, not just commerce. But not everyone sees that — and that’s okay.
People will always have opinions. Let them.
Meanwhile, I’ll be working behind the scenes — sourcing sustainable ingredients, hand-pouring batches, and crafting products that support your natural glow.
Let Them Go — While You Grow
Whether it's personal relationships or online followers, not everyone will come with you as you evolve. The business I started isn’t the same one I’m running today — and that’s a good thing. Evolution is necessary.
As Mel says:
"If they wanted to be in your life, they’d act like it."
So let them go. Let them unsubscribe. Let them unfollow. Your growth isn’t too much — it’s just not for everyone.
What I’m Focusing On Instead:
✨ Intentional product development — powered by real results, not just trends
✨ Transparent ingredient sourcing — because what you put on your skin matters
✨ Clean, elevated skincare routines — with skinimalism at the heart
Final Thought
The “Let Them” mindset isn’t about giving up — it’s about letting go.
Let go of the fear. Let go of the need for approval. Let go of the pressure to please everyone.
Because when you let them, you free yourself.
And in that space? That’s where the real magic — and real skincare — happens.
